Weaving her magic | Whelans Weaving | London commercial photographer

Mar 22, 2018

As someone who has always had an interest in the arts and as a keen amateur crafter, being commissioned to photograph and film a skilled artisan maker is nothing short of exciting! Falling squarely into this category is the weaver Claire Whelan, working from a studio at Cockpit Arts that she acquired after being awarded the Clothworkers Foundation Award in 2017/2018, she brings wonderfully rich combinations of pattern and colour to her gender neutral collections.

To sit alongside the film I also captured a series of photos around the studio and showcasing her beautiful textiles.

I am a commercial photographer based in St Albans, available commissions in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London … and further afield if you wish! If you would like to discuss requirements please get in touch at hello@emmacollinsphotography.co.uk, or visit my contact page.
